A name that seems gone out of the pen of a romantic poet, Fiumelatte together with the country Primaluna mellows our toponymy. Watching him these days – so swollen, ruthless, fast and full as never before – scares you.

It is born from a natural phenomenon that seems like a stream (a ‘river of milk’), candid and doughy.  Just mysterious because it is only known that it’s born from the karst system of Northern Grigna.

It appears only in summer and when it rains cats and dogs, because it is child of the overflowing of a tub or an underground lake that has not yet been discovered in the Moncodeno area.

It’s so white because the strong pressure and the quick jump to Como’s lake. Il’s only 250 mt (820 ft) long, but very spectacular. In these days of deluge, the river appears in its brilliant form!

Nature is really strange: it is so scary enough to astonish us.
